Smruti Plantation Project (SPP)
Green India is New India. Our broad objective is to create a habitable GREEN Earth and a better world for the present and future generations. Plantation is also one of the effective way to counter the challenges of Climate Changes. We strongly encourage the planting of indigenous trees and plants that are appropriate to the local environment. Trees are important, necessary and valuable to our very existence.
Smruti Foundation has plans to plant large number of trees and strived to grow every planted sapling into a tree.
Smruti Foundation will also make FREE PLANTATION in spaces available in schools, collages, housing societies, colonies, corporate parks, spiritual places, gardens etc.
PlantaFani - 2019:
On 03 May 2019 Cyclone Fani (the biggest cyclone in last 20 years) made a landfall at coastal cities of Odisha with heavy rains and wind speed of 180 kmph, left a trail of destruction. The cyclone has affected millions people, seriously disrupted communications, levelled thousands of homes, destroyed crops and swept away livestocks.
There has been severe damages to homes and business, with the storm tearing off many roofs. Power lines were downed, and water has left some roads inaccessible. People are facing problems in accessing drinking water & electricity at many places.
Above all, the biggest loss of nature was loss of million old trees as the cyclone has uprooted millions of trees.
Smruti Foundation has decided to take up a plantation program (Named as - PlantaFani) on which we will plant as much as trees possible before this monsoon season. To scale up our efforts, we would definitely need your support.
